A pallet jack, also known as a pallet truck or pump truck, is a tool used to lift and move pallets
The front wheels are mounted inside the end of the forks, and as the hydraulic jack is raised, the forks are separated vertically from the front wheels, forcing the load upward until it clears the floor. The pallet is only lifted enough to clear the floor for subsequent travel.
Pallet Trucks can either be opertaed manually or by they can be powered. Powered trucks are normally used for large loads that wouldnt be possible to move by hand. Hand trucks and trolleys are normally used for smaller jobs for moving stock etc.
Pallet trucks come in loads of different styles, including ones that have extra low clearance or extra long forks, trucks that can easily move over rough terrain or that can lift pallets very quickly. Others are designed for extra high clearance, galvanised to guard against corrosion or made of stainless steel for use in hygienic environments.
